"I AM."
It is the shortest full sentence in the English language. It is a statement of existence, presence, and enough-ness. Often, we come to counselling because we feel we are "not enough" or "too much." My practice, Emerge, is built on the belief that just being is your valid starting point.
My Story
My professional path has been defined by a deep fascination with human growth:
The Foundation: I began my career as a Foundation Phase teacher. Nurturing young minds taught me the importance of safety and curiosity in development.
The Transition: After becoming a mother and committing myself to that journey, I felt a calling to return to the "why" behind our behavior. I wanted to understand the human mind from birth to death.
The Qualification: Following years of volunteering at SADAG and speaking at schools, I completed the BPsych Equivalent programme at SACAP. Today, I am proud to practice as a Registered Counsellor.
My Practice
I don’t believe in a "one-size-fits-all" fix. Instead, I use an integrative approach to meet you where you are. My practice is grounded in:

-
Person-Centered & Culturally Relevant Care: You are the expert of your story; I am the facilitator.

-
Evidence-Based Tools: I draw from CBT (to shift thoughts), DBT (to regulate emotions), and Solution-Focused therapy (to find the path forward).

-
Mindfulness: This is ingrained in everything I do. I believe that what we cultivate on the inside is what eventually blooms in our outside world.

-
Space to Breathe: I work on a short-term basis, assisting humans through "rainy seasons" and life stressors that feel too heavy to carry alone. I offer empathy, active listening, and a gentle challenge to the patterns that hold you back.

In my room, there is space for honesty, metacognition, and most importantly, the space to breathe freely as you begin to emerge.
Find Your Space to Grow
If you feel the weight of a rainy season or are simply ready to find your 'enough-ness,' I am here to listen. Let’s create the space you need to breathe and begin to emerge, together
